Abstract
In this paper we combine two relatively new methods to analyse a tar lake. The ground penetrating radar measurement has become a quite important method for the analysis of near-surface conditions. The method is based on the spreading of highfrequency electromagnetic waves and on the validation of Maxwell equations. The wavelet-transform (WT) is used for the analysis of measured data. This transform can be used for the time frequency analysis, for the filtering of data and for the detection of the interference of different signal parts. The WT depends on different functions, the socalled wavetet functions, which have different properties.
