We describe a new tomographic method for the interpretation of resistivity and induced polarization (lP) field data. In recent years, tomographic imaging of geophysical data has become an important topic, due to the need of a high-resolution approach to the delineation ofburied structures, mainly in near-surface exploration (Noel and Xu, 1991; Loke and Barker, 1996). Our approach to tomographic interpretation of resistivity and lP data differs from standard inversion schemes, since it is essentially based on a probabilistic point of view.
