Abstract

P-wave and S-wave velocities determined from acoustic full waveforms together with density log resuIts provide unique information on elastic moduli of rocks, while the Stoneley wave slowness gives knowledge of fissuring and permeability of investigated formations. Transit interval times of P-waves, S-waves and Stoneley wave as weIl as their respective amplitude and phase spectra may be obtained using computer programs for interpretation of wavetrains.
