Abstract

The GPR methodology application can be useful as a planning and budgeting tool to the engineering reclamation and reconversion of dismantled industrial sites. The GPR provides an aid in finding the data necessary in the remediation plan of the site and in improving the degree of knowledge in work operations risk assessment. This case history deals with an old steelplant to be reconverted in a technological and environmental park. The investigation results suffered many problems related to processing and interpretation of GPR data in the concrete reinforc+ed slab. In such materials noise, lateral effects and attenuation have great consequences on hiding the goal of the survey, that's underground foundation structures, voids and utilities.
