Abstract
During last 8 years, the distribution of radioactive gas Rn-222 in soil air of the subsurface layer and natural waters is among important objectives of the geological - environmental projects in city agglomerations and their surroundings in Slovakia. The reason of this is very simple : Rn-222 and its danghter's produets of decay are the most dominant sourees of the natural radioactive irradiation. The radon from geological medium may be trapped within buildings and accumulate there, thus threatening the health of their dwellers. It is well known that danghter's products of radon (Po-214 and 218, Bi-214, Pb-2lO and 214) can cause, under certain conditions, lungs cancer.
