Examining the radiation of ground penetrating radar antenna into upper hemisphere

Abstract
On-site and laboratory measurements of radiation flux into upper hemisphere for slot antennas on the surface of lossy medium were carried out. These characteristics are very important in operation of ground penetrating radars (monostatic as weIl as bistatic) inside closed rooms or in the vicinity of large reflecting objects. Reflections from waIls, ceiling, other objects near the testing site lead to interference signals which complicate signal processing and interpretation of results obtained.
