Abstract

Hydraulic conductivity (HC) in unsatured soil has interest in pollutants transport in soils, clay barriers in industrial and nuclear waste disposal, irrigation and earth-dam engineering. Common standard methods for HC measurement in unsatured soils rely on infiltration tests. These tests measure water content along a soil column at different times. The measurements can be carried out by using the gravimetric method (wet and dried samples), electrical conductivity measurement of standard blocks, Relative Humidity of air in a capsule in potentiostatic equilibrium inside a sample and Nuclear Radiation particles.
