Abstract
Heavily contaminated groundwater usually contains quite large amount of dissolved salt. It can be expected that porous materials saturated with water of higher concentration can be characterized by lower electrical resistivity than those saturated with clean (fresh) water. Therefore different resistivity methods may be good indicators of contaminated groundwaters.
