The Use of Seismic Prospecting for Prediction of Ground Vibrations

In the last few years, concern about vibrations generated by civil engineering work has dramatically increased. The main seismic wave sources are pile and tie-back driving, quarry blasts, drilling operations and road or train traffic. In inhabited areas such vibrations may have an important impact on people and buildings and may constitute a major problem for the environment.
