Abstract

Excessive extraction of lignite in ogencast coal mines provided high devastated areas in Eastern Germany during last tens of years. The heritage of ogencast coal minieg is a lot of overburden dumps and residual pits. At the Lausitzer lignite area the overburden dumps mainly consist of non plastic soil, general of pleistocene and tertiary sands.
