Over the last few years several papers have addressed the development of objective monitoring systems for seismic data quality (Scott et al., 1996; Armstrong et al., 1997; Scheffers et al., 1996). These systems are based on an attempted quantification of seismic data quality; a number of indicators are used to keep track of data attributes that somehow quantify various aspects of data quality.
