Results of amplitude variation with offset (AVO) studies in a major Tertiary hydrocarbon province show the seismic character of the main reservoir to be a low impedance event regardless of fluid fill. Based on full waveform modeling, it appears that AVO response at this level may be strongly influenced by porosity.
