Abstract
Multicomponent reflection seismics has enabled geophysicists to gain more information about the subsurface than by using vertical receivers only. In order to optimally proces the data, separation of the recorded wavefields is required. It is needed not only for shallow seismics where different wave types overlap in the data window, but also for deeper seismics where converted waves interfere with reflection data.
