f Model-Based Estimation of Interval Velocities (for the Sedimentary Overburden) in Deep Reflection Seismics (DEKORP)

In deep reflection seismics, the acquistion parameters are optimized to image the middle and lower crust. Nevertheless, the knowledge about the velocity-depth structure of the sedimentary overburden is important for crustal studies. Macro-velocity models are needed, for example, for depth conversion of time horizons, for the application of depth migration algorithms and for tectonic balancing.
