Abstract

At present, there exists a long-terra infrastructural project for railways and Transrapid in Germany. Many new alignments are investigated by engineering, geotechnical and geophysical techniques. These alignments cross difficult geological and morphological situations: crystalline, volcanic and sedimentary rocks and loose materials. For each of the different cases adapted geotechnical and geophysical methods have to be selected.
