Abstract

Spatially and temporally varying stress regimes have been interpreted from various extensional basins throughout the world. We use the Kutai basin in Eastern Kalimantan, Indonesia to demonstrate the importance of a rotating stress regime in the formation and subsequent modification of the basin geometry through time.
