Abstract
Scattering due to fine lagering is known to play a major role in seismic attenuation. If the rock is also parous and permeable, additional attenuation can be caused by a flow of the pore fluid between lagers, a flow which is induced by the passing wave (White, 1983). In recent years both effects have been extensively studied theoretically and numerically.
