Abstract
The "plaine de l'Aire" (Geneva) and the Rossens areas (Fribourg) overlie a Quaternary glacial basin which contain a major aquifer system. Both areas have been already studied by other geophysical methods, such as VLF profiling (Thierrin), electrical profiling (Service Cantonal de Géologie, Meyer de Stadelhofen), gravimetric (Pollak, Poldini) and hydrochemical studies (Thierrin). The purpose of this research is to test the efficiency of shallow reflection seismics in mapping the glacial sedimentary units and the underlying bedrock.
