Abstract

Three wells on the Lodève mining site, where a lot of exploration holes had been drilled and logged, gave us a well-characterized test site for implementing and evaluating crosswell seismic methods. The Permian formation is fine layered with small velocity contrasts and with a dip of 15° to the south. The three uncased wells are lined up in the direction of the dip. The distances are 80 m between wells A and C and 220 m between A and B. A large 30 m throw fault crosses Wells A and C, while two others with throws of 5 and 2 meters lie in the middle of the field, crossing the central well C. Our purpose was to image these faults and to evaluate the resolution of crosswell tomography and refiection imaging.
