f Effects of Seismic Acquisition Geometry on Seismic Processing - Analysis of the DMO Techniques

We have witnessed in recent years dramatic developments in the acquisition configurations deployed for Marine 3D seismic Surveying, a typical contemporary configuration may consist of dual sources and 6 x 3 km streamers covering a 250 m swath of the subsurface with each boat line. Such developments have reduced dramaticaIly the time taken for 3D acquisition and hence the cast of the technique, contributing to the widespread use of 3D surveying in exploration.
