Abstract
Two modified amplitude-preserving rnigration schemes were recently presented in order to correct for the thin-layer influence on scalar wave propagation. Wapenaar and Hermann (1993) introduced a modified matched filter approach which accounts for amplitude and phase distortions due to finelayering. Widmaier et al. (1994) combined amplitude-preserving Kirchhoff migration (Schleicher et al., 1993) with a generalized O'Doherty-Anstey formula, to recover the true SH-wave AVO behavior of a target zone: Here, we extend the latter methodology to elastic P-wave propagation.
