Abstract

An important aspect of any integrated reservoir characterization strategy, besides its definition, is the estimation of its rock proporties. Such estimation can be based on well data alone and in view of the method presented here, this only provides the low frequency part of the property to be estimated, i.e., acoustic impedance. Inversion of the dynamic proporties of the seismic wavefield (amplitudes), however, provides the missing high frequency part related to lithology variation in between the wells not picked up by borehole data interpolation.
