When interpreting seismic data, useful geological information can be extracted from the frequency dependent phases, amplitudes and polarisations of seismic waves. In real conditions these parameters are distorted by large number of factors. The most significant of it are inhomogeneity and anisotropy of overburden and the seismic source properties.
