Abstract
Today the GRM is probablely the most widely used interpretation method in refraction seismology. The GRM is based on the Plus-Minus-method but, by introducing a XY-distance, the weakness of the Plus- Minis-method especially regarding the velocity determination is overcome. Conceptually the XY-distance corresponds to the critical offset of the refracted ray (Palmer, 1980).
