Abstract
Garotta (1982) proposed a dynamic view of the solution for static corrections, ranging from superbinning to tackle long spatial wavelengths to standard and split (several values for each source and receiver) statics. More recently, researchers thoroughly addressed the filtering problem. related to 3-D geometry (Vermeer, 1990, 1994) and its relationship with statics (Wisecup, 1994). This paper aims at merging some of these ideas from the standpoint of 3-D spectral analysis. In addition, different issues such as non-surface consistency and the DMO vs. statics relationship will be overviewed.
