Abstract

Markov processes provide a flexible way of analysising and modelling temporal and spatial signals, including geological sequences (Harbaugh and Bonham-Carter, 1970). This paper considers two applications of Markov analysis. The first application is segmentation of well logs and the second is a method of automated log 'cleaning'.
