Abstract

The intra-Carpathian region can be divided into several subbasins separated by pre-Tertiary basement highs and infilled by great mass of Neogene source rocks, of which total thickness amount to 7 km in deepest subbasins, over a strongly attenuated crust. The region experienced significant strike slip tectonics. According to estimations this well-studied geological setting contains lots of small oil or natural gas entrapments.
