f AVO Inversion of Troll Field Data

A stratigraphic elastic inversion scheme (Helgesen and Landrø, 1993) has been applied to a data set from the Troll East field. Both traveltime information and reflection amplitudes have been used to extract P- and S-wave velocities and densities from the seismic data. Since the P-wave velocity has an effect upon both the traveltime and the reflection strength, this is the best resolved parameter. S-wave velocities are mainly determined from variation of reflection amplitude with angle of incidence. The inversion was carried out in the t - p domain.
