Abstract

Despite the abundant literature about modeling of seismic wave propagation and a comparable amount of algorithms for it, an ideal algorithm still does not exist, that is, one that combines the computational speed of wavefront and raytracing methods and the automatic way in which a complete wave field is generated by finite-difference methods, without any restriction on model complexity and dimensionality of the space.
