Abstract

Tube waves propagating in the boreholes are used for the investigation of permeable zones and of fluid transport in porous rocks (Aidinov, 1994). It is known that in a permeable interfal a clay coating and colmatage zone are often formed. We study effects of these factors on the velocity and attenuation of a tube wave by means of an experimental and theoretical treatment.
