Abstract
Since deep seismic reflection profiling began in earnest in the 1970's, a broad range of structures has been mapped in the lower crust while upper mantle structures have generally remained elusive. Better documentation of mantle structures would help our understanding of how the sub-crustal lithosphere is deformed, how long the resultant structures can be preserved over time, and shed light on the relative behaviour between the crust and upper mantle during deformation.
