f The Upper Jurassic of the Central Graben - the Stratigraphic Expression of an Evolving Rift System

The evolution of a rift system causes a fun damental change through time of the main factors that influence stratigraphic signatures. These are exemplified in even complex extensional regimes such as the Central Graben of the North Sea. An extensive seismic database (both 2D and 3D), supported by numerous well, and biostratigraphic and lithostratigraphic information, has been interpreted to reveal the evolution of the region and to provide a tectono-stratigraphic framework within which geological and hydrocarbon prediction can occur.
