The delta plain deposits of the Ness Formation of the Jurassic Brent Group pose severe problems to field-development teams. The low sand content and erratic distribution of the fluvial channels are the main factors responsible for pessimistic reserve estimations and recovery factors for the Ness in many North Sea fields.
