The Pripyat paleorift is found within the East European craton and is the western sublatitudinal segment of the Pripyat-Donets aulacogen and a part of the Sarmatian-Turinian lineament - one of the biggest lineaments in Eurasia. The paleorift is 280 km long and 140 km wide and separated by deep faults from the Ukrainian shield on the south and from the Podljaska-Brest depression on the north.
