Abstract

The BGR, in collaboration with German and European universities and the German oil industry, has studied the possibilities for deep gas generation in northern Germany. The term "deep gas" defines natural gas generated from organic matter in pre-Westphalian sediments. Various geochemical and geological tools have been used for this integrated research program.
