Abstract
A chalk reservoir may- comprise different lithological and depositional facies. Moreover, the reservoir may contain an almost identical oil phase and connate water in all facies. When the chalk reservoir has an intensive interconnected fracture system, the effectiveness of water injection depends on the capacity of the rock matrix to, imbibe water and displace oil into the fracturen. It is therefore important to give a realistic estimate of the spontaneous imbibition of the different facies to predict a cumulative oil production.
