Abstract
The aim of this paper is to discuss whether or not solubilisation of-gases in water and subsequent diffusion can be considered as a migration proces. We give first an example where geological and geochemical data may be interpreted as the result of a diffusion leakage. Second, the diffusion of gases through argilleous caprock has been studied with an experimental cell coupled with a numerical model. Lastly, the numerical model for this experiment has been extended and applied to the geological example.
