Abstract

Due to its geographical position, Albania makes up not only an interesting geological setting but also a significant one, by structurïng a part of the Alpine segment which connects the Dinarids in the North with the Helleraids in the South. The lonian and the Sazani zones which comprise its south-western part of Albania, have some specific features in their geological-geophysical construction, it means that their seismic response of these two zones are different (Figure 1).
