Abstract

Over the last three years there has been a significant improvement in the precision of seismic acquisition systems. The Instantaneous Floating Point amplifier a standard in the exploration industry for over 25 years, has been succeeded by the 24-bit converter. The introduction of high performance geophones with reduced harmonic distortion has continued to improve data precision.
