As in many compressionnal areas, the petroleum potential of the Bolivian Sub Andean Zone depends on the relative timing between structuration and maturation. Indeed all the known sources rocks are pre-Andean and even Paleozoic in age. Therefore, study of the petroleum system means an coupled study of the geology, the kinematic of the thrust emplacement and the kinetic of the various source rocks maturation.
