Abstract

A well constrained crustal-scale balanced and restored cross - section through the Eastern Pyrenees provides the basis for a multi-step flexural modelling of the northeastern Iberian lithosphere during Eocene -Oligocene thrusting. The section extends from the Aquitanian Basin in the North to the Ebro Basin and the València Trough to the South. Crustal parameters are constrained by deep reflection profiles (ECORS Pyrenees and VALSIS), refraction profiles, gravimetry and magnetotellurics. Tectono -sedimentary relationships provide good time control for both basement and cover thrust sheets emplacement. Additional data as fission-track cooling ages data allow to constrain differential uplifts into the basement units that represent the most important loads to flexure the lithosphere.
