Abstract

The Balkan-Forebalkan Late-Alpine foldbelt crosses from west to east the Bulgarian territory, and is a part from the Alpine-Himalayan mountains chain. Its Eastern domain, which is about 170 km long, essentialy differentiates from the Western one in geological structure (Bonéev, 1986). The folded belt there becomes widest, which is caused by the distinguished northward broadening of the Balkan and especially the Forebalkan.
