Abstract

Sediments of Upper Oligocene age (Repel and Chatt) were deposited in a pull apart basin that was opened along the left lateral Inntal fault. Tectonic evidence for structuren of basin opening is poor. Adjacent to major normal faults it is possible to define the direction of opening of the basin by microtectonic methods. Additional information is given by facies pattems of the basin fill.
