Abstract
Developments in high resolution sequence stratigraphy have provided a conceptual model to explain the stacking pattern of sedimentary genetic sequences. These concepts have been used to develop a new method of simulation of the stacking pattern of genetic units and of the facies distribution within these units. The software is able to reconstruct in 2D the evolution through time .of a sedimentary system depositional profile. The purpose of these simulations is to improve the. prediction of the reservoir distribution in a chronostratigraphic framework.
