Abstract
Evidently, there are now two approaches in geologic interpretation of geophysical data that can be considered as dominating ones . One of them is the well known and widely used seismic stratigraphy (SS) . Another one is the structural-and-formational interpretation (SFI) elaborated by Russian geophysicists. Up to now, the application of the SFI was restricted to oil and gas provinces of Russia, Kazakhstan, Turkmenia, and recently - Pakistan and Ethyopia .
