Abstract

Cross-hole seismic data are usually processed and interpreted by ignoring the presence of the borehole i .e., by assuming that the sources and receivers are simply buried in the subsurface . This assumption is generally acceptable for ray tomography methods using first arrivals only, but must be revised in diffraction or full waveform tomography techniques.
