f The African magnetic mapping project

Aeromagnetic survey data have an important role to play in the economic analysis of urineral and hydrocarbon acreage in frontier regions such as Africa. The African Magnetic Mapping Project (AMMP) brings together a magnetic database for Africa, using existing digital databases as well as new digital datasets generated by this project from analogue contour maps. The final integrated maps and digital database produced by AMMP will allow regional geological features to be identified and qualitatively analysed in sufficient detail to be of major importance for both mining and hydrocarbon interests.
