Abstract

The signature of GPR antennas, or their transfer function in the frequecy domain, is usually not considered when analysing data . This is because signal dispersion in the antenna usually does not lengthen the pulse very much, keeping it possible to locate targets accurately . The knowledge of antenna signatures may have following applications - reducing ringing , - measuring target signature for discrimination or identification, - enabling the use of dispersive antennas .
