During the last few decades, a large variety of radio science methods based on sophisticated signal processing has been developed. New developments of frequency synthesizers and digital phase detectors make it possible to manufacture digital radar systems with high phase resolution accuracy. Based on these developments, radars with high dynamic range operating in the frequency domain can be built.
