Quaternary Karacadag volcanics,spread out approximately 10250 square kilometers on prospective exploration areas of Turkish Petroleum Corporation,adversely affects seismic data quality .By estimating the distribution and lateral variations of litology and thicknesses, and modelling the nearsurface geology, these adverse effects of the high velocity volcanics and the intermittent low velocity clay, Band or gravel sequences, have been tried to be compensated for .
